As predicted in the prior quarter (see Instrumenta 23 (9)12),earnings at Bruker BioSciences Corp (Billerica,MA)increased by 43% year-on-year in the third quarter of calendar 2006,boosted by the company's 135 million acquisition of Bruker Optics at the beginning of July (see Instrumenta 23 (8)9)and the purchases of Quantron,Socabin,and KeyMaster Technologies,to bolster its industrial analysis business.Excluding 1 million of charges related to the acquisition,earnings would have reached 3.9 million.
