A pullback in spending from pharmaceutical and industrial customers towards the end of its third quarter of calendar 2008 had prompted Thermo Fisher Scientific Inc(Waltham,MA)to shave two percentage points off its full-year guidance.The company now expects sales to rise by 7-8%,to 10.45-10.55 billion.However,despite"uncertainty in global markets",the company increased the low end of its earnings guidance,anticipating growth of 18-20%.
