In a surprising change of direction,Nanogen Inc(San Diego,CA)is conducting a strategic review of its microarray business,including its NanoChip instruments system and related multiplexed reagents and consumables,"as part of an aggressive plan to achieve profitability".While the review is to take up to 90 days,the company already estimated savings related to the closure of the microarray business at 15 million annually,While for the first half of calendar 2007,the company almost doubled revenues to 20.0 millon,its net loss for the period edged slowly further into the red to 26,4 million.
