To reduce the consumption of its engines - and therefore the production of CO{sub}2 - Renault has made choices. Certain solutions are still in the development stage, Turbeco, ADIVI alterno starter, small 3 cylinder diesel or camless systems, butthe direct petrol injection, IDE, is already being produced in series in the new Megane Coupes and Convertibles. As opposed to the Japanese, the French ID works with stoichiometrics, the absence of poor mixes avoiding all NO{sub}x problems.
