摘要

Bluetongue (BT) is an arthropode bom orbiviral disease primarily of sheep affecting other ruminatnts also. In India, the disease was first reported in 1963 in Maharashtra. On sero survey, it was established that it was widely distributed in India (Mehotra, 1991). In Tamil Nadu the disease was first recorded by Janakiram et al, (1991). It was pronounced during the monsoon when the vector population is more (Wilson etal, 1997).
