Selection of animals on the basis of first lactation milk yield is most efficient procedure for finding the inherent capacities of the individual. Further, early part and cumulative part yields can be used in predicting producing ability of animal sothat culling of poor animals can be made before first lactation is completed and also serves a good purpose in preliminary sire evaluation and saving cost and time of progeny testing. The present study was undertaken to evaluate the performance of Sahiwal cows for partial and cumulative partial milk yield.
