Calving interval at regular intervafof 12-14 months is of utmost importance from economic point of view. Longer calving interval increases generation interval and thus decreases rate of annual genetic gain influencing the reproductive efficiency of adairy buffalo. Similarly, dry period is the rest period during which a dairy buffalo prepares herself for next lactation. The purpose of the present study was to evaluate genetic and non-genetic effects of calving interval and dry period in Murrah buffaloes.
