摘要

The duration of gestation period is of great importance to the dairy husbandry from management point of view. Its knowledge helps in fixing the expected date of calving which provides vigilant supervision during this period resulting into improved health status and better survivability of both, newborn and dam. Systematic studies pertaining to the factors influencing gestation period in Gir cows appears to be lacking, Pandit et al., (1985). Therefore the present study was undertaken to find the effect of parity, season and sex of calf on gestation period in Gir cows.
