摘要

The Annual Meeting of the Central European Society for Anticancer Drug Research-EWIV (CESAR) was held in Essen from June 28 - 30, 2012. As in the past it attracted scientists from Germany, Switzerland, and Austria active in clinical and pre-clinical drug research.The 2012 Meeting was held under the central topic Combination of new molecular entities in Oncology. The idea was to consider and discuss the different perspectives relevant for the successful development and testing of the combination of new molecules as well as established drugs. Novel drug combinations might provide new options for individualized treatment strategies. The better understanding and further development of drug combinations might allow targeted treatment regimens, improving the therapeutic outcome and to guarantee patient safety.
