摘要

Effect of sodium chloride and sodium sulphate on carbohydrate metabolism and productivity was studied in various organs of safflower (Carthamus Tinctorius L.) Cv. Bhima at flowering stage. Results revealed that, with increasing levels of NaCl, carbohydrate metabolism decreased, decreasing the dry matter (DM) per plant. DM increased at low levels and decreased at all higher levels of Na_2SO_4 at flowering and maturity. Plants maintained more carbohydrate content at all levels of sulphate which must have helped to increase productivity up to ECe ECe 10.0 mScm~(-1). Plants completed life cycle up to ECe 7.5 mScm~(-1) of chloride and ECe 10.0 mScm~(-1) of sulphate salinity.
