摘要

The present study tries to understand working environment from communication theory, cognitive linguistics and Ecological Approach to Human Machine Systems (EAHMS) theory's points of view, based on the "working place discourse corpus (collections of all the conversations in target workplaces)" in order to validate the hypothesis that the language used in the workplaces and stress factors are strongly correlated to each other (e.g., linguistically weak sentences are used much more frequently in top-down, stressful working places than in bottom-up, co-operative working environments and vice versa). This study finds that discourse strength is strongly correlated to the degree of stress factors in working places. In other words, the degree of working place stress factors can be measured and controlled linguistically by the discourse patterns.
