摘要

Dana Petroleum is stepping up exploration and eyeing new opportunities in frontier provinces across West Africa as it aims to double production in five years and help owner Korea National Oil Corp. (KNOC) achieve its own ambitious upstream goals. State-run KNOC acquired the Scotland-based independent nearly a year and a half ago in a $2.9 billion hostile takeover, but Dana operates independently from its owner, Chief Executive Marcus Richards told International Oil Daily in an interview. The two companies benefit from a “fluid” relationship, he said, with Dana being able to draw on KNOC’s financial muscle and strategic positioning when it needs to.
