摘要

The paper forms part of a project to restate the nature of the process of managing technology and innovation in a way that reflects greater concern for holism and complexity. Complexity Theory, Structuration Theory and Activity Theory are drawn upon to develop a model of a human activity system that has proven useful as a means of linking some recent organizational development ideas such as, core-competence, learning organizations and BPR. Appropriately, in an era of the knowledge based economy, it seeks to place the person with knowledge' or the 'knowing person' at the heart of organizational complexity. [References: 28]
