Nitrile-butadiene rubber (NBR) is the most important rubber for the production of mechanical rubber goods and is second only to ethylene-propylene rubber in terms of volumes of consumption among the special-purpose rubbers. At present, the leading companies in NBR production are as follows: Lanxess, with a capacity of 125 000 t in France, 20 000 t in Brazil, and 30 000 t in China, launched in 2012; the Zeon Corporation, with a capacity of 75 0001 in Japan, 30 0001 in the United States, and 15 000 t in the United Kingdom [1]. In Russia, NBR is being produced at the Krasnoyarsk Synthetic Rubber Factory, with an annual output of 42 000 t (Figure 1).
