The Norwegian Petroleum Directorate said Tuesday that it will expand the buyout scheme for fishermen in connection with this summer's seismic data acquisition activity in the Nordland VII and Troms II areas off northern Norway. The scheme is designed to compensate fishermen who deliver catches from the two seismic acquisition areas from Jun. 28 to Aug. 10. They can fish during the period as long as it does not interfere with the seismic data acquisition, and any income from the fishing will not be deducted from the payout.
