Canada has a long tradition in Mineralogical Crystallography,and several founding members of the Canadian Mineralogist, amajor international mineralogical journal, were crystallograph-ers. Minerals are complicated materials, and work on single-crys-tal diffraction has gone hand-in-hand with microbeam chemicalanalysis, spectroscopy, and work on the theoretical aspects of thesolid state. Here, I will focus on thelast 20 years with some reference tohistorical provenance.
