A publicly-quoted UK company carrying out International mining operations requires a Head Office that reflects the stature of the organisation. Xstrata opted for two floors in a prestigious Grade II listed building in the heart of London's West End. Panton House, bordering the Haymarket, had already been the subject of a developer's refurbishment but the Xstrata team, when contemplating the fit-out of the lower executive floor, decided further upgrading of the shell and core element was necessary. The commission to design the entire floor and project manage the contract to completion was given to MAsolutions, who had previously impressed the Xstrata management with the installation of a fully computerised media wall with video conferencing facilities into the boardroom on the upper floor. The Staines-based company, which has built up a reputation for trust and continuing relationships with clients, is no stranger to undertaking total refurbishment projects - from obtaining initial planning permission through to the Landscaping of the car park surrounds - but Panton House provided the additional headaches that come with a 19th century Listed building.
