Rockwool has supplied insulation for use in the ambitious renovation of a 130-year-old Grade II listed building into a modern contemporary family home. Built in 1870 the Victorian stone water tower in Lymm, Cheshire, was purchased privately by Russell Harris in 1997 to be renovated into his dream family home. Harris bought the water tower on a whim. He Liked the Look of the water tower and had the vision, but planning permission had not been acquired before contracts were exchanged and he had not realised or mapped out the full cost of the refurbishment project. This meant that very early on Harris had to place the project on hold while he considered just how to curtail an escalating budget. Work on the Water Tower finally started in 2000 and just three years Later the conversion is on the brink of completion. So how did he do it?
