We may soon see the end of greasy spoon cafes - because today's British builders are losing the lard. New research by Lafarge UK has found that over two thirds (67 per cent) of builders and contractors are swapping the traditional cooked breakfast for cereal and fruit - with a mere ten per cent opting for the classic builder's sustenance of the bacon butty. And whilst the majority admit there is truth in the rumour of the builder's unhealthy diet, almost half (42 per cent) blame this on being unable to buy healthier options from the eateries they go to - with few saying they opt for a fry-up out of choice, and a mere 14 per cent claiming price sways them away from salads.
