ConocoPhillips has been given the green light by Norway's Petroleum Safety Authority to dispose of the oil storage tank from the Ekofisk field. The Ekofisk tank and its protective wall will remain on the field. The consent includes cleaning of cells, storage of equipment on the 30m-deck, removal of equipment except for a crane on the protective wall, installation of solar cells to operate navigation equipment and marking and painting of the helicopter landing site.
