FMC is pressing ahead with its subsea processing technology as it sees a bright future for the ever growing sector, which could also lead to more increased oil recovery (IOR) benefits. Tore Halvorsen, senior vice president of Global Subsea Production Systems at FMC, told a press briefing at Offshore Europe in Aberdeen that as offshore fields suffer an average production decline of 18% a year, the opportunities to get more from fields by adopting subsea processing are apparent.
