Tata Sleel Ltd's acquisition of Coras Group Plc was not without its share of, hiccups. The Teesside Cast Products (TCP) episode was the second key setback it suffered after its acquisition of Corus. Its performance and balance sheet were first hit by the global economic slowdown. To make matters worse, four major customers of TCP reneged on their 10-year contract to buy steel slabs produced at the plant.
