San Francisco-based bio-based fuel and chemical technology developer LS9 Inc. announced September 10 the successful start-up of its Florida operations with an initial 135,000-liter (35,663-gallon) production run of fatty alcohols. LS9 completed the retrofit of a demonstration-scale production facility in Okeechobee, Fla., in May, according to a company statement.
