摘要

The agricultural industry is far more used to dealing with saltwater flooding than we are in the sports turf industry. Recent winters have seen an increase in the number of storms and level of flooding. This deteriorating winter weather pattern has highlighted some of the potential issues surrounding saltwater flooding.In the past couple of years a number of clients have been asking for help with sites that have been exposed to salinity issues as a result of seawater breaching coastal defences. We have also had clients who have been significantly affected to the pointwhere insurance claims have been drawn up to cover the cost of repairs and clean-up operations. STRI has been directly supporting our clients as well as in an independent consultancy role reporting to the insurers and appointed loss adjusters.
