摘要

There is a change taking place in development of embedded, real-time and application specific systems. In the past those systems had a main task and the main focus lay on the quality and usability of this task. Today's systems have to offer a range of additional functionality or even several main tasks, while maintaining the high quality level of the/each main task. Developers therefore need an environment which lets them combine different levels of development in an efficient way: High level development allows to implement new features shortly and to reduce the risk of bugs. Low level development is essential for optimising an embedded or real-time application.
