A general theory of pseudopolarography using the thin mercury film covered rotating disk electrode is developed. Half-wave potentials of pseudopolarograms of the reversible and totally irreversible redox reactions are: E-1/2 = E degrees + (RTF) ln(1.594 l delta(ss)/DT) and E-1/2 = E degrees + (RT/alpha nF) ln(k(s)delta(ss)/D), respectively, if the accumulation of amalgam is longer than two minutes. Under the influence of the development of the diffusion layer in the first phase of the accumulation period, the limiting values of dimensionless pseudopolarograms increase with decreasing accumulation lime. The consequences of this process on the half-wave potentials are discussed. [References: 22]
