摘要

Serviceability evaluation is a process of evaluating an artifact in terms of its ease of service during its usage life cycle. Quantifying approaches are needed to assist in serviceability evaluation. In this study, serviceability characteristicsof a product are defined into four groups: disassembly, reassembly, handling, and service cost. However, the serviceability characteristics of an artifact cannot be completely defined using crisp data. The imprecise data is represented using fuzzy logictheory. The methodological focus of this study is on evaluating the serviceability index of an artifact in a multiattribute and imprecise data situation. The proposed methodology offers a viable tool for serviceability evaluation of design alternativesduring the early design stages. An example is provided to illustrate the application of the proposed fuzzy logic based serviceability evaluation methodology.
