摘要

This article addresses a component of the proposed Product Environmental Advisory System. The work presented in this article is a step toward quantifying the role of physical part shape in possible postuse options. Metrics have been established to relatethe geometric attributes of the part to the environment. The proposed Reprocessability Index System (RPI) provides a tool to compare the reprocessability of various parts. The concept of RPI has been applied to a set of basic parts established by theDCLASS classification system. Other examples have also been considered.
