In the final part of his article, Robin Read BSc(Hons) GradIED discusses social learning and teaching. Social learning in social robotics. If a robot is to take on the role of a care-giver, or a service robot, then it is clear that there will be many common goals and tasks that we will want our robots to perform and achieve, many of these having very generalised solutions and approaches that may be used interchangeably between varying scenarios. On the other hand, however, it is very likely that there will be many more tasks that are unique to us as individuals, which we will expect our robots to perform on a regular basis.
