Before returning to the 'real' world of engineering design, I thought it would be worth capturing a few observations of my last nine months on the road as 2011-12 Design Ambassador. On the road is a bit misleading, however, as my travel has employed planes, trains and automobiles, as appropriate of an Institution which offers CEnv. In doing so, I have been able to appreciate at close hand the design efforts of some of our members employed by Rolls Royce, Bombardier and Jaguar, for instance.
