Last issue's poll (March/April 1995, p 53) asked members to tell us whether you believe engineers must work together to improve the profession's image, and whether a large, self-interest organization is required to make this happen. We also asked you to tell us why you commented as you did. Finally, we asked you what three new, specific, advocacy/self interest services would be of benefit to you, and whether you would like to join the Canadian Society for Professional Engineers (CSPE). CSPE is an independent, self-interest organization for professional engineers. It was created by Professional Engineers Ontario in 1979. A Platform on p 38 of the March/April issue by CSPE president Stewart Crampton, P.Eng., outlined the society's history and current programs, and called on engineers to join CSPE to give it the numbers needed for real clout.
