Mandatory continuing veterinary education won't come into effect in this country until 2012. So, why do we need to start collecting CVE points now? Jenny Moffett talks to Patrick Talty, Chair of the CVE Subcommittee and President of the Veterinary Council. When it comes to continuing veterinary education (CVE), the core message for practitioners, according to the Veterinary Council of Ireland, is that it will be necessary to accumulate a minimum of 60 credits over a three-year period, or 20 credits per year for registration, from 2012 onwards. If this allocation is not met, vets will risk losing their permit to practise in this country.
