The Year 2005 and the beginning of 2006 will long be remembered at Danieli thanks to the record number of orders received for slab casters, indicating the international market's acknowledgment of the technological leadership and outstanding management capabilities of Danieli as supplier of both thin and thick slab casters. In short, during the last 18 months Danieli received orders involving a total of 24 slab casting strands, covering all world markets and major steel producers, and increasing its reference list to a total 111 strands. Within the next two years, an additional 25 Mtpy of steel will be produced through Danieli casters, most of them for top level customers supplying the most demanding automotive markets. For instance, most of flat products for automotive applications in Europe will be processed by Danieli Davy Distington casters (at Arcelor Dunkerque, Arcelor Sidmar, and Arcelor Fos-sur-Mer, and ThyssenKruppStahl Beeckerwerth plants).
