Taiwan has long had a system for monitoring environmental water quality and has accumulated over 30 years of comprehensive water quality monitoring data. The system now in operation includes regular testing of ocean, river, and reservoir water quality, and frequent updates to the National Environmental Water Quality Monitoring Information Network. Residents are encouraged to observe World Water Monitoring Day by taking an interest in the quality of the water in their immediate environment.
