Numerous species of the giant genus Megaselia Rondani remain to be described for mainland Europe. Furthermore the females of many known species are unknown or poorly characterised in the literature. Today species recognition in this genus is primarily based on the male hypopygium in most cases. In this paper 1 characterise four poorly known European species and illustrate their hypopygia.
