Black Bengal goat endowed with a number of economic traits were studied for their physiological performances in terms of hematobiochemical and enzymatic profiles under low input village management system in new alluvial and coastal saline zone of West Bengal covering two seasons of summer and rainy. A total of 176 goats were studied at their different physiological stages like immature, post pubertal, mid pregnant and early lactating stage. The results indicated that Hb concentration, total serum protein, albumin and globulin were significantly higher in new alluvial zone than in goats reared in coastal saline zone. The enzymatic activity, AKP, AST, and ALT also significant increased in new alluvial zone. It appears that the character of the soiland pH of the new alluvial zone in were favorable compared to coastal saline zone in terms of supply of nutrients, to the grazing animals. But it is not clear whether low input grazing system in new alluvial zone is sufficient for optimum expression of genetic potentiality of the grazing goat.
