摘要

Since long, chemical toxicants were first used to eradicate unwanted populations from culture ponds and lakes throughout the world. But the synthetic chemical toxicants are usually non-degradable and may create many ecological and environmental hazards. Considering the problems of fish farmers to eradicate unwanted fishes, attempts were made to evaluate the effect of phytotoxin extracted from the leaf dust of Lycopersicon esculentum (LLD) and seed dust of Thevetia peruviana (TSD). These plant toxicants are economic, easily available and easy to apply without affecting the natural aquatic balance and public health due to their least persistence in aquatic environment.
