Wheat yield is reduced due to low available moisture content and poor soil fertility status in the rainfed areas in the maize wheat cropping system. The main objective of this experiment was to determine the residual impact of integrated nutrients management on soil properties and wheat productivity. Results showed that FYM at 10 t+40 kg N/ha (T4) recorded significantly higher moisture content followed by FYM at 10 t+30 kg N/ha (T3). Comparatively lower value of BD was recorded in organic treated plot than the control. During six years the increase in BD was 3.4% higher in control than the T4 treatment. Similarly reduction in infiltration rate was 1.86 times higher in control than the T4 treatment. Application of organic manures enhanced the water productivity and organic carbon status. During six years 21% increase in OC was observed with the treatment receiving FYM at 10 t+40 kg N/ha.FYM at 10 t+40 kg N/ha (T4) gave the highest yield response (38%) than the control. The results revealed that application of FYM is necessary to improve the soil quality and to sustain the wheat productivity in rainfed areas.
