A decrease in silicon alloys prices on major global markets coupled with reduced consumption will result in softening ferrosilicon prices in Russia. In late 2010, transactions for silicon alloy supplies in January were made within the range of $2,000-2,150/t, down $130/t m-o-m. The prices are inclusive of VAT and delivery. Negotiations on silicon alloy supplies in February are expected to end up with a $100-120/t decline in ferrosilicon prices.
