With sales in Europe increasing steadily, Kiku is now preparing to extend the marketing of its branded Fuji apples to a number of countries around the world. APPLE marketing group Kiku is set to announce the names of several new worldwide partners inthe next few months following its recent decision to expand production of its protected Kiku-8 strain of Fuji to growing areas in places such as New Zealand, Australia, Chile, South Africa and the US. The company is currently putting the finishing touches to a number of contracts with major packers and marketers in each of these countries and, according to Kiku general manager Jurgen Braun, the aim is to develop production during the course of 2006 with the aim of bringing the new partners together forthe first time at November's Interpoma meeting in Bolzano, Italy.
