dubai—Exporters in East Africa are seeking to boost their presence in the Middle East market, while increasing their investments in Europe and Asia.Africa has long been an important source of produce for the Middle East market, not least the East Coast of the continent on account of its easy access by sea to the Arabic Peninsula. "We are sending a lot to the Gulf," says Abdi-rahman Harir of Kenyan exporter Harir International, "including avocados and mangoes. But the market is volatile, with pricesgoing up and down. That's why we're keen to diversify as fast as possible and invest a bit more in Europe and Asia."
