Chilean exporter RTo Blanco is opening new offices in Mexico and the US this year as well as introducing new fruit varieties to its range. Steve Anderson reports. RIO BLANCO, a longtime powerhouse in Chile's table grape business, led all Chilean tablegrape exporters in 2004/2005 by exporting77m cartons of table grapes, accordingto statistics published by Expordata. And the company is projectingtable grape exports in the region of 9-Sm to lom cartons for 2006/07. But the talk at Rfo Blanco isn't about the company's rise to prominence in Chile's table grape deal, but rather its decision to invest strongly in a major diversification effort: new fruit varieties, new properties, new packing houses and new foreign offices.
