Leading Polish apple exporter Activ is aiming for solid recovery rather than growth this campaign after the challenges of last year's frost-blighted harvest. Last season was undoubtedly one of the most difficult in many years for Poland's apple sectoras frosts during a key stage of fruit development damaged between 40-50 per cent of that year's overall harvest. In the wake of such events, Waldemar Zolcik of Polish apple grower and marketer Activ admits that this season has been very much focused onmaintaining the company's current client base rather than attracting new business.
