The wettest May on record is expected to lead to shorter volumes for the Spanish citrus exporter, although the overall campaign is forecast to be better than last season. Major Spanish citrus exporter Martinavarro is predicting a challenging start tothis season's citrus campaign after the wettest May on record affected trees' growth stability in the key production region of Valencia. Although the company expects overall volumes to be up from the exceptionally short 2007/08 season, this campaign's crop will arrived an estimated 10 days later than normal as a result of the unfavourable climate earlier this year.
