This year, with the assistance of the company's Summerkiwi variety Prim'land is planning a new project designed to extend the kiwifruit season. Last season was an exceptional one for France's largest kiwifruit shipper. Thanks to extremely favourable climatic conditions, Prim'land, which is based in the Les Landes region in the southwest of France, recorded a considerable increase in both volume and fruit size. "In 2007, we produced 14,500 tonnes of kiwifruit," says the company's marketing manager Pierre Aguerre, "which represents a 15 per cent increase over the year before."
