Mild temperatures have contributed to a boost in strawberry volumes for Pico, as well as an early start to the season, according to commercial and marketing manager Heike Hagenguth. HH: Our production has increased by 30 per cent compared to last season's volume. The climate has been favourable for strawberry production this season-, with temperatures remaining mild and warm - certainly tetter than last season -leading to an early start to the season. We started around two weeks earlier than the previous season, and will be extended by deliveries to the Far East and South Africa, where we have doubled our programmes.
