Planet Produce has gone from four employees to one of the UK's lead ing food service sector suppliers thanks to a policy of keeping customers firmly in focus. Almost a decade ago, the four founders of Planet Produce - Pete & Becky Watson and Norman &Glenda Heyes -sat down in the offices of their warehouse premises and began work on what has since become one of the UK's leading fresh produce suppliers to the foodservice and catering sectors. Some 10 years later, as the group settles into its brand-new off ices and recently expanded premises, Mr Watson believes the hard work has paid off. "This is a risky and competitive business and nothing comes easy. The challenges may have changed but they are still numerous - rising fuel costs, changing weatherpatterns and endless legislation to name but a few."
