THE image of the overweight American is a stereotype now recognised all over the world. Years of nutrient-free school dinners and high-fat diets have ensured the UK has also earned its place in the international league table of obesity. But the French? Surely they are renowned for the best cuisine in the world? Perhaps not any more.
