As the European import market expands further east, consumers are demanding greater taste and convenience from the melon category. Taste and convenience are the leading trends on the European melon market today which importers must increasingly striveto supply, according to Arjan Kaashoek, melon product manager at Dutch import group Hillfresh, which sources the fruit from both South and Central America.
