Steady growth in the production of sharonfruit during recent years has seen the fledgling industry come of age, with increased volumes set to sail between May and July. When Israeli company May-Amy decided to invest in the development of sharonfruit in South Africa, it could hardly have hoped for more enthusiasm from local growers. Now, 10 years on, the business is rapidly growing and increasing volumes are being shipped each year to complement the Northern Hemisphere season.
